Biomassa 


As árvores, arbustos, resíduos florestais, plantas aquáticas, dejetos animais, entre outros, formam uma matéria orgânica denominada biomassa. Para que se tenha energia utilizável, deve haver o envolvimento de vários processos químicos e biológicos. Brazil is the leader in installed capacity for power generation by biomass !!!


The Brazil was, for the first time, the world leader in installed capacity for power generation by biomass (obtained from organic materials such as wood, dung, and agricultural waste food scraps, among others) in 2011. The data comes from the Pew Environment Group's report.


Last year, the installed capacity of the country in this sector grew 1.9 GW (gigawatts), totaling 8.7 GW.


The Brazil also leads the world rankings in the production of biodiesel, according to the Pew Environment Group, the environmental arm of the non-profit organization The Pew Charitable Trust, based in the United States.


According to the study, the country was the tenth largest investor in clean energy worldwide in 2011 with $ 8 billion ($ 14.6 billion) applied, an increase of 3:0 pm for 2010.     12 de abril de 2012 | 18h 00
